Abstract

Background. The problems of moral upbringing of the individual within the framework of the changes that took place in the Russian education system in the 21st century as well as in the light of the challenges of the new millennium which required adjustments to approaches to upbringing in the context of the information age are considered. The leading role of upbringing in the socialization of the learner, the formation of his ability to self-actualization, the ability to withstand multiple negative influences from the media environment is singled out. The purpose of the work is to identify the problems associated with the formation of the personality of adolescents and outline ways to address them.
Materials and methods. The implementation of the tasks of this study was carried out on the basis of data obtained from the media as well as publications of articles by modern teachers devoted to the problems of education and upbringing. The authors pay attention to both the positive processes taking place in the sphere of education and the negative phenomena associated with the development and selfdevelopment of the individual. In the article The method of observation which has been used by the authors allows to select facts that contribute to the purpose of the article. Comparative method allows to draw an analogy between different approaches to education and specifies the difference between them.
Results. Various approaches to the problem of the formation of the adolescent personality are considered. The youth problems that cause anxiety of modern society are analyzed. The materials presented on the Internet dealing with the negative features that are manifested in the nature of adolescents have been studied. The problems of personality formation which require close parents and teachers’ attention are identified.
Сonclusions. The study of the problems of personality formation in conditions of multifactorial influence of the information environment makes possible to identify the most urgent of them. The ways of overcoming the negative phenomena associated with the formation of the personality of adolescents are outlined. A list of necessary literature on the upbringing of the personality of a modern teenager is offered. The main tasks of personality formation that parents and teachers have to solve are indicated.
